Food Donations Volunteers
We can accept prepared food that has been prepared in a commercial kitchen. There are many events held throughout the community and we are grateful for any left over food.
As people in the area grow more food than their family can eat, many will bring their extra to the Upper Room and drop it off.
When should I bring the food to the Upper Room?
The prefer time to bring in items is from 9:00am to 12:00pm, Monday through Friday. To make sure someone is there, call 530-621-7730.
We are always looking for the following:
instant cocoa mix
black, white, garbanzo beans (no pinto)
canned diced tomatoes
travel size toiletries
grocery store gift cards

Here is a challenge from the Odd Fellows Lodge as printed in the Mountain Democrat.
We are currently developing a new set of sponsorship levels for individuals, companies, organizations and churches. The sponsorship levels will be based upon contributions of money, time, and goods/services.
In the mean time the adopt-A-Day program is still alive and well. All donations of $250 will be assumed to have been made for this program.

Every day about 14 to 20 volunteers prepare and serve hot meals for anyone who wants a good meal.
If you belong to an organization you might want to consider taking one day a month to perform these duties. Don't have enough volunteers, then consider teaming up with another organization. We offer training for all volunteers that are interested. The first thing to do is identify someone to be in charge of the cooking and serving crews. The best way for them to get trained is for them to work for about six months with an experienced crew.
